ABOUT
Ariel Sha Glassman is a composer, arranger, guitarist and educator based in the Chicago area. She completed her Bachelor’s in Jazz Guitar at DePaul University in Chicago and her Master’s in Jazz Composition and Arranging at the University of North Texas. She is currently attending Columbia College of Chicago for a Master’s in Screen Scoring. She has been a recipient of the DCASE Individual Artist Project Grant in 2020. She received the Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer’s Award in 2019 and 2021, as well as the Phoebe Jacobs Award in 2019. She was also the 2023 recipient of the ISJAC/USF Owen Prize and the recipient of a Jon Deak First Music Jazz Commission Prize in 2024.
